MedSource, a Houston-based clinical research organization, has acquired the data services division of Datatrial, the company announced this week.
Datatrial is an international biometrics and technology company that supports clinical trials, including oncology treatments.
The deal will help bolster MedSource’s presence as a full-service research organization and will help spur further growth and allow for expansion into the European market, MedSource officials said in a statement.
MedSource has grown significantly in the past three years, opening new facilities in California and North Carolina and doubling its staff. The full-service research organization focuses on complex study designs and diseases, with expertise in oncology and central nervous system disorders.
“Bringing Datatrial’s data services division under the MedSource umbrella allows for a more seamless integration across our service platform,” said Eric Lund, MedSource president and CEO, in a statement. “Additionally, the expansion of service from the U.S. to the U.K. gives our U.S.-based customers expanded service hours, with better access to our data management team and one of their most important assets — their data.”
